Italy & France & England, oh my!

In the fall of 2019, I helped Mick and Deanna plan their 2 week European honeymoon. It was a blast. They had first come to me assuming all of it would be too much, especially the logistics of moving between countries, but we were able to include all three countries and tons of activities within their budget. This is a small highlight of their trip!

ITALY

Mick and Deanna started their trip in Italy, staying mostly in Rome but spending one night in Florence. I helped them figure out the logistics of the train to Florence and map out a little itinerary for their time here. Between Airbnb and Booking.com, we found really sweet and comfy accommodations in the two cities. They stayed in Trastevere while in Rome and then city center in Florence. As people that enjoy a good tour, I found Mick and Deanna a few experiences - a Vatican tour, a Colosseum tour, and a pasta-making class, all through Airbnb Experiences. One of my focuses, as I try to help build out a trip, is figuring out what is most comfortable for the client. Some people have a lot of experience exploring a new place and some people get overwhelmed. Some well-traveled travelers scoff at guided tours but they are a fountain of knowledge and a great opportunity to speak with locals. Especially with Airbnb, the guides are often people living right in the city. They have the best secrets of the area!

FRANCE

The next stop was Paris! Mick and Deanna really wanted to get to Disneyland Paris and see this city as well. They spent half the nights at a smaller hotel in the city called Villa Madame that had a private garden and then the other half was spent at a Disneyland Paris resort. Throughout my research, I had seen lots of photoshoot Airbnb Experiences and thought, what could be a better way to commemorate a honeymoon? A beautiful photoshoot in Paris. Unbeatable. The photos came out amazing and I am SO glad they took me up on the suggestion. The other Parisian activities besides Disneyland was a tour of Versailles and a “Laugh Through The Lourve” tour that they really enjoyed.

ENGLAND

Their final destination was London! This was a city I’ve traveled to a lot so I had a ton of food suggestions for their itinerary. Borough Market is the top choice. Mick and Deanna booked an Airbnb very close to the Tower Bridge and the Queen’s Walkway - an awesome location. They didn’t book any tours but they went on the London Eye, watched the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, and had some amazing dinners. They also walked about Camden Market, which is a great spot to check out some locally made art and other things.

Working with Mick and Deanna was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. This was by far the largest and most intricate trip I’ve planned for someone and watching it come to life was almost as good as experiencing it myself! I realized through this whole process that this was something I would love to do for people. Help others experience the world in whatever way they’re comfortable doing so and growing in the process. Thank you Mick & Deanna!

“Huge, huge thanks to Cassie for making all of our honeymoon dreams come true. She created our ideal trip from top to bottom. The photo shoot was just one of the many amazing and thoughtful things she planned for us. Do yourself a favor and hit her up for all of your travel planning needs. I cannot recommend her services enough! - Deanna
