Some Trip Inspiration…
Road Trips
One of the most exciting ways to see a new place is by planning a road trip around it. In 2016, I spent two months on the road exploring America and have learned some invaluable things about the moving pieces of a road trip. No matter where you live, there is an amazing place close by that you could build a road trip out of. It’s also the most affordable option so much of the time.
Backpacking
While I’ve never done the stereotypical “backpacking” Europe trip with a huge backpack and hostels, I’ve gone on trips where I’ve moved around every night and lived out of my carry-on. There is a lot to think about when you move to a new city every few days. I’ve learned how to figure out what is worth it and what is something to leave out of the itinerary. Safety tips, money-saving hacks, and general logistics knowledge of hopper flights/trains would be helpful if a trip like this is high on your list.
Birthdays
Every year for my birthday I try to take a week-long trip and book things a little more expensive than I usually would when I’m otherwise sticking to a tight budget. I love to find really nice dinner options or a unique, beautiful Airbnb to splurge on. Birthdays (or anniversaries) are a great opportunity to treat yourself and invest in a little more luxury. It also makes looking forward to your birthday a lot more fun with age!
