Some Trip Inspiration…

Road Trips

One of the most exciting ways to see a new place is by planning a road trip around it. In 2016, I spent two months on the road exploring America and have learned some invaluable things about the moving pieces of a road trip. No matter where you live, there is an amazing place close by that you could build a road trip out of. It’s also the most affordable option so much of the time.

Backpacking

While I’ve never done the stereotypical “backpacking” Europe trip with a huge backpack and hostels, I’ve gone on trips where I’ve moved around every night and lived out of my carry-on. There is a lot to think about when you move to a new city every few days. I’ve learned how to figure out what is worth it and what is something to leave out of the itinerary. Safety tips, money-saving hacks, and general logistics knowledge of hopper flights/trains would be helpful if a trip like this is high on your list.

Birthdays

Every year for my birthday I try to take a week-long trip and book things a little more expensive than I usually would when I’m otherwise sticking to a tight budget. I love to find really nice dinner options or a unique, beautiful Airbnb to splurge on. Birthdays (or anniversaries) are a great opportunity to treat yourself and invest in a little more luxury. It also makes looking forward to your birthday a lot more fun with age!

Road Trip Through Canada

Adrianne and Nicole came to me after I took my own road trip through the national parks in western Canada and wanted to take a similar trip. They wanted to go during peak season but otherwise, they were open to all suggestions. Throughout two planning sessions, we planned a week-long trip for under $1000 a person and included everything on their list. Watching them get to experience all the things we talked about was great.

“Cassie recommended a gondola ride which led to a restaurant overlooking the mountains. Nicole was very grateful for Cassie's suggestion because this was the most memorable part of the trip for her. Adrianne was hoping to walk the Giant Cedars Boardwalk and made sure to ask Cassie whether we could work that into the trip and she helped plan accordingly!”
